Summer Scheme
The Summer Scheme is based at Linden Lodge School, 61 Princes Way, Wimbledon Park, SW19 6JB. It has been in operation since 2008, and has continued to be popular with our children and young people, parents, carers and other local authorities.
Linden Lodge School provides a high quality educational experience for visually impaired pupils, including those who are multi-disabled visually impaired. We are recognised as a specialist Regional Centre for children aged between three and nineteen years of age. The school also supports pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties, those with dual sensory impairment (deaf/blind) and many of whom have complex medical requirements.
Funding is received from Wandsworth Borough Council for Wandsworth pupils. We also received funding from outer borough local authorities and from some parents who used their direct payments to cover the cost.
The Summer Scheme is held every summer for two weeks.
All of the groups had access to the outdoor areas which they could use for games or break time. Having use of the grounds and facilities gave each group the option to work as a team and also to give the children access to all the facilities e.g. sensory garden, play equipment, multi-sensory rooms and all of the various specialist equipment within the school.
