The Pre-Formal+ curriculum is designed for pupils with vision and sensory impairments who require a sensory-based provision. The primary intent of this curriculum is to support the development of each pupil's identity as individuals who can actively influence their world. Every pupil has a voice, and with appropriate support, they can use this voice to take control of their environment and interactions.
The Pre-Formal+ curriculum is structured around five key areas:
- My Communication
- My Cognition
- My Body
- My Care and Independence
- Me and My Community
Each area is highly personalised to ensure that every pupil makes meaningful progress in all aspects of their development. Pupils following the Pre-Formal+ pathway exhibit curiosity, excitement, resilience, and persistence. Our goal is to nurture these traits, enabling them to thrive as active participants in their education and all aspects of school life.
